Covered are the concepts specific to the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Claim. Includes statutory deadlines imposed on Insurance Carriers representing employers, definitions and calculation of benefit rates, strategies and legal avenues to effect a reduction or elimination of benefits payable, and the proper use of Bureau forms in order to avoid payment of penalties and fees to Claimants.  


Legal Module 1: Introduction to Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation elements Compensability and Statutory Deadlines
This module provides an introduction to the elements of a compensable claim, and outlines the timeframes within which the Claimant and Insurance Carrier (on behalf of the employer) must file reports and respond to the initiation of the claim. You will then learn the key elements of the investigation of the compensability of the claim and the documents that must be filed in response.  

Legal Module 2: Introduction to Benefit Status, Calculating Benefit Rates, and Changing the Benefit Status of the Claimant
This module briefly reviews the elements of a compensable claim, and introduces the concepts of Total and Partial Disability. You will learn the basics for calculating the Average Weekly Wage, and will be introduced the Bureau Documents and administrative processes for initiating a change in benefit status.  

Legal Module 3: Advanced Issues in Investigation and Acceptance of the Claim for Benefits and the Proper Use of Bureau Form
This module will provide you with a detailed understanding of the statutory and administrative mandates for investigation and acceptance of the claim as well as a review of case law that impacts the Insurance Carrier's exposure to penalties and fees for unreasonable contest of a claim. You will gain insight into how to appropriately issue documents so as to avoid these unnecessary costs while investigating the compensability of a claim.

This live or recorded Webinar provides up-to-the-minute information on new Pennsylvania court cases, Pennsylvania administrative decisions and legislative changes.
